I'm not a museum freak, but I'm not an anti also.
Whenever possible, wherever I visit a new place, I spend sometime to lookout the Museum or the Art center. At least I could snip a little bit of the culture existence.
Now, Let me do a layman comparison between two Museums where I had a chance to visit before:
When I visited Shanghai Museum - I need to pay around 25RMB - and what I got there was an a four floors building full with china art and artefack collection, with a facility a full air con, lift, escalator access to each floor, proper and clean toilet, translator devices, a light that automatically switch on and off on some collection area, etc.
A common facility did an important role which make u comfortable on enjoying the whole collection.
But what the visitor pay might only the small part of their income on closing the maintenance fee.
Compare to Museum Nasional/ Museum Gajah in Jakarta- where I just need to pay 1500rupiah (0.1 usd). So can u guess how the facility here?.
Can u guess how the condition of the collectible item?
The expenses on maintaining the collectible item was not cheap for sure.
Therefore, in many country, the goverment shall support the existence of the museum, as the place was the reflection of nation identity.
Back to Sofilia Fine Art Center.
This was my first time step into the art center.
I was on the One day Family Seminary in Kemayoran Church. Then on the middle break, all the audience have been offered a great deal to visit the museum with half of price.
Daddy been there before, but daddy agree to visit the place again and take care of josh, while I can look around.
Located on the 6-8th floor, I step into the 6th floor, and my heart scream. Argggg, the place is so beautiful.
6th floor - Painting Collection.
7th floor - Chinese Art n Craftmanship, Watches, Ballpoint, etc.
My mouth was watering when I saw two of the chinese craftmanship - an ox bone craving - sooo beautiful, very detail and I couldn't imagine how much times spent on finishing this art.
8th floor - unable to describe *sigh* as I have no chance as the time was ended and shall back to seminary.
For common people, I found lack of information on the collection inside the museum. Need a lot of man hours to finished it all. Hope someday all it's done.
I'm not a specialist nor highly competent on explaining much about the Museum, I'm only stay at home mommy, but if you asked me, I got stunned with the appearance of Sofilia Fine Art Center, A kind of Museum that I dreamed to be exist in Jakarta.
Now, you shall know, Who was behind this all?
Rev. Stephen Tong!
If I think about Rev. Stephen hard work to collect and do all the maintenance from the beginning days till the Museum exist now, my heart trembling.
We were not being allowed to take any picture for sharing it here,
So if you say you live in Jakarta, give a chance to your self and spend your time to visit this place.
P.S. Now days you can hear the sermon of Rev Stephen Tong on Channel 17 - STEMI TV - Firstmedia.
