Thanks you Parent Day

Karena Josh anak pertama kami dan satu-satunya (masih), jadi kami tak punya ide acara apa saja yang dilewati saat dia akan masuk ke SD.

Tiba tiba hari jumat dia ingatkan mama papa harus datang yah esok di "thanks you parent".
Mama: memang ada apa Josh?
Josh: rahasia. Tapi mama papa harus datang.

Lantas, sabtu pagi, papa mama pun datang.
Ternyata mereka nyanyi di panggung.
Selain itu. Saat masuk ke kelas, anak anak menyanyikan dua lagu. 1 lagu mandarin tentang terima kasih pada papa mama. 1 lagu indonesia, yang kata-kata nya juga indah tentang keluarga dan papa mama yang terbaik (belum sempat mencari lagu tersebut).

Dan puncaknya, satu per satu anak bergiliran, datang ke papa mama.
Kasih mama bunga, kasih papa kartu yang ada tulisan nya.
Peluk mama papa, dan menyuguhkan minuman.
Wahhhhh..... mama sangat terharu. Rasanya ingin nangis hehehe.. *mellow mom*.

Mama merasa waktu sedemikian cepat berjalan, dan Josh sudah bertumbuh dewasa.
Bersyukur untuk sekolah dan guru guru yang begitu mendukung perkembangan moral anak, dengan moment ini, mengajarkan anak berterima kasih kepada orang tua.

When things didn't go as you planned - Date vs Fever

Been a long long time, we haven't had a night out date.
We planned for have it once for movie. It's such a perfect time as the movie is one of calvin's fav genre and my mom was willing to take care of josh.

But....
Near the lunch time, Josh told me that he feeling weak. I asked him to change his dress, but he too tired. Just when I help him, I knew he got fever. His body temperature was high.
I wonder why, when i pick him from school, everything ok.
He gladly showed me his trophy, winning the 1st place on computer activity in school.
I checked his tumbler and found out he didn't drink during school time.

Before nap, quickly let him drink a glass of  papaya juice. Then he slept from 12am to 6pm. Wake in the middle, took a drink and lil bit food.

At noon, he has a soup for dinner. Then grandma also give him another glass of juice.

Fever still high. Took paracetamol before sleep.

Wish he could get better.
Our date can wait.

Still asked daddy to play chess

Josh - Lepas Balita Domba Kristus 14 Mei 2016

Lepas Balita menandakan Josh sudah melewati satu fase didalam kehidupannya.
Josh mulai ikut Domba Kristus bersama mama dan papa sejak Josh umur 3 tahun.

Mengambil tema : Celebration God's Faithfulness.

Acara Lepas Balita berlangsung di hari sabtu dengan kehadiran papa mama dan saudara kandung.
Dimulai dengan  Anak-anak yang mengelilingi pohon, memberikan bunga kepada mama, dilanjutkan berdansa dengan mama dan kerjasama mengambil cupcake di pohon dengan papa.
Papa-mama berkumpul diruangan untuk memuji dan merenungkan Firman Tuhan, serta sharing foto kegiatan anak-anak dan juga tentunya persembahan pujian dari Josh dan teman-temannya.
Di akhir perjumpaan, kami boleh menikmati jamuan santap malam bersama. Tentu menjadi pengalaman yang tak terlupakan. Josh terlihat senang sekali.

Ada satu ayat yang menjadi perenungan

Sebagai kenangan, Memory Marker, Papa mama mempersiapkan foto Album untuk Josh, serta photo movie. Sebagai hadiah, dikarenakan Josh sudah mulai bisa membaca, dan untuk menyemangati Josh untuk mencintai Firman Tuhan lebih lagi, kami memberikan Alkitab.
(Sebenarnya ide memberikan Alkitab ini tiba tiba terlintas, saat hari minggu sebelumnya, Josh mendapat ayat hafalan dari sekolah minggu, dan dengan antusias di mobil, dia mengambil Alkitab papa mama dan mencari tahu letak dan isi ayat tersebut. Akan tepat waktunya ketika Josh mempunyai Alkitabnya sendiri).

Board Game - Otello

Recently, I think to buying another board game, an Otello come to mind.

Gladly, I could found it quite easy.

Here another board games that easy to play for 6years old to be.
Josh fall in love with the games. And he keep asked people to play with him.

Yes, another family fun time ☺

Dating with Josh - Movie time - Cinemaxx Junior

During one week mid semester holiday, We try this out. Cinemaxx Junior.

The first cinema for kids.

A good chance as we haven't watched the movie played on "Kungfu Panda 3".

It's become my dating time with him.

Oh, there was egg hunting activity, and who got 5different colour could win 1million cinemaxx voucher.

Hmmm Josh just got 4 colour, so a water bottle become the prize.

Josh was having fun. At first he didn't dare to try to slide. After the first try with me, he enjoy it and get courage for the next :).

In the middle of movie time, a child cry, and the sound system suddenly turn lower then return back to normal after a while.

It's not to dark and colourful.

If you want to leave the kids, there were 12 camera, you can monitor their activity beside the ticket cashier area.

Another memories with my son. Love you.

Ant and Josh

I always said to Josh that we shall caring for God's creature.
Josh knew that all animal created by God.

Yesterday night, after dinner, Josh didn't put the plate on sink. Then, a bariccade of ant surround the plate.
I came and took it, then used a wet napkin, swept all the ant.

There one ant left, and Josh's reaction surprise me.
Mom, you shouldn't kill the ant.
The ant left alone now. Mom, you kills the other..
Josh start to cry. He protect the last ant survive, and blame me for the condition.
He said, ant is God's creature, we shall take care of them.

Hmmm... mom said sorry to Josh.
Ok, next time mom will move them back to their place.
And how about you clean your dirty plate, so the ant won't come into the table.

Josh agreed, he stop crying and he keep looking at the last ant.

To explain more about "rule over all the creatures" according to Genesis, will be very challenging.

6 Years old to be Josh, Pho-Pho, and Whatsapp Messenger

Today on the way back home, 
Josh asked me, Mom, did Pho-pho stay at our house now?
Mom: No Josh, Pho-pho stayed in Jelambar.
Josh: Why? Why Pho-pho didn't stay at our house. I want Pho-pho to stay with us, in our house.

Mom still on driving,: Ok Josh, how about you called Pho-pho and said it directly to her.

Josh took my phone, but instead of calling, he did text messaging.
I didn't realize it till he said to me. This the first time he did it and it's initiated
by him self.

Josh: Mom, I write to Pho-pho. I can write now. But why pho-pho didn't reply me.

Mom still on surprise: Wow Josh, you can texting now. Ok, just asked pho-pho why there was no reply.
Josh continue the texting.

Unfortunately, there was no reply until we arrived home.
But suddenly Pho-pho called, I think she also surprise to get message from her grandson.
They both chat in the phone.

Later Pho-pho reply the message and Josh shout to me: Mom see, I got reply from Pho-pho.

Now, Josh got to enjoy the messaging. 
I have struggling to explain the usage of the phone to him. But nowdays, when he can read and write, it's become another tools for him to practice and he really happy with it of course when we used it wisely.

At Night, he continue to texting daddy. He used to called, but seem Josh feel excited with the new experience. Every word come from his own. Feel touch when he text to Daddy that God will take care of Daddy.

Family Fun Day - Taman Safari

Yeay, Finally could have a short trip with my family.

This happen during Josh's one week mid term holiday.

Together with my sista, my nephew (bennet), mom and Josh, we have fun in Taman Safari Indonesia.

Choose the place, as it's family friendly, hope for the fresh air, could learn about nature and animal, and the distance is bearable :).

Hmm after all, I almost lost my bag, I left it on the chair. Fortunately, there still honest people who return it to the guard.

Here some picture. At the end of the day, the rain poured.

Bennet reaction was so funny, cry, point to the animal, keep grumble, etc.

While Josh, he could asked lot question, enjoy it.

Our mom keep smiling and laughing on her funny grandsons.

Love it.

Thanks God for giving us time and will treasure it.

I took above picture with one try. While the one taken by my sista need couple of minute, and my sista laughing at me, saying the penguin must really dislike me and keep a distance from me. Spot the difference?! ☺

Morning Car Talk with Daddy

Saat melewati papan Iklan SMS, Josh melihat permainan House of Trap.
Josh: Pa, House of Trap itu keren loo..
Pa: Tapi nanti permainannya gelap loo Josh.
Josh: Tak apa Pa, Nanti sebelum masuk, aku berdoa dulu.

Nap mare

He awake on his nap time and came to find me in the room.
He asked where papa. I said papa haven't back home yet.

He hug me and start to cry.
He said he dream that mama papa leave him at home and never want to come back.

When daddy back home, I told him the story about Josh cry.
Josh said he afraid that I might go to work also. Daddy said, mom didn't go to work.
No, mommy did work. She work in Kost.

*grin* my dear.

Kalau belum bisa, Belajar dulu donk

Kemarin Josh mengajak mama papa bermain lego. Tetapi karena mama ingin bermain yang lain, mama ajak josh main UNO Card.

Dari sana, Josh belajar main UNO dan strateginya. Walaupun belum terlalu mahir tapi Josh mau ikutin.

Sesusah selesai, kita pasang lego foto.
Nah lantas mama minta Josh gosok gigi.

Saat gogok gigi Josh protes, mama koq ngk mau main lego sama Josh.
Ini karena mama ajak main kartu UNO, makanya waktunya habis enggak bisa main lego.

Josh memang lagi senang senangnya dengan kapal starwars, pura puranya dibentuknya dari lego.

Lalu mama jawab, Josh mama tidak tahu main lego yang kamu mau seperti apa. Mama belum bisa main seperti kamu.
(Rasanya mama memang merasa kaku kalo harus bermain perang bintang dengan model lego, plus mama lagi flu berat).
Tuh kan mama, kalo mama enggak bisa, mama belajar dulu donk, mama mau donk diajarin sama aku. Jangan bilang enggak mau enggak mau donk ma.
Sama kan ma.
(Mama lagi berpikir kejadian apa yah)
Itu, Josh enggak mau enggak mau, tapi mama kan suruh belajar. Makanya mama belajar donk.

Semua dikatakan Josh sambil gosok gigi.
(Waktu terasa cepat berlalu, Josh yang sudah bisa lancar bicara dengan penuh argumennya)

Iya Josh, baiklah, habis ini mama belajar yah sama kamu.
(Walaupun kepala terasa berat, demi untuk Josh belajar bahwa ucapan mama konsisten dan mama mau belajar juga).
Mama pun bermain lego kapal2 dengan Josh.

Sesudah itu mama minta Josh sudahan karena mama sakit. Next kita main lagi yah nak.

Chinese New Year and Angpao

Kali ini dalam perjalanan mobil pulang sekolah (sesudah mendapat angpao dari ii) mama bertanya pada Josh, apa yang dia mau gunakan angpaonya.

Josh: mau kasih papa mama
Mama: lalu mau untuk apa lagi?
Josh: Mau kasih ke yang miskin
Mama: Trus mau kasih kemana lagi
Josh: Buat persembahan
Mama: kalau ada sisa buat kamu mau digunakan buat apa?
Josh: Ngk ada.
Mama: Iya, misalkan ada sisa buat kamu, kamu mau gunakan buat apa Josh
Josh berpikir sejenak: Hmmmmm aku mau buat beli permen ma.. 1 bungkus saja.. tp aku pelan-pelan ma makannya...

Sambil Josh berkata seperti itu, Josh memasukkan semua uang angpao ke dalam dompet mama.

Saat ketemu sanak saudara ataupun yang dituakan biasanya kita senantiasa mengucapkan kiong hie.
Nah biasanya pula orang akan membagikan angpao kepada anak jika sudah mengucapkan.
Saat kita minta Josh sapa dengan Kiong Hie, dia tidak mau.
Josh: Josh angpaonya sudah ma, enggak mau lagi. (Cukup dapat dari mama dan ama akong)
Ternyata bagi Josh Kiong Hie itu sama dengan minta angpao.
Mama: Josh, enggak apa apa kalo tidak mau angpaonya, tapi kita mau belajar sopan Josh untuk mengucapkan Kiong Hie pada saat imlek kepada orang yang lebih tua dari kita.
Josh: hmmmmm...... (terlihat enggan), namun mau juga ucapin kiong hie.

Josh and Varicella / Chicken pox

For the last week of school, Josh stayed at home.

On Thursday, After watch Dino movie, we went home and he quickly fall asleep.
On Friday, I bring him and mom to mall, but during our walk, he look tired all the time. At that moment, I guess he get bored while accompany my mom taking look around.
Back at home, he take a nap.
At night, when I hug him, I saw two red dot on his forehead, I still guess that because mosquito bite him, as he sleep on sofa in the morning.
On Saturday, there some red dot but not much. We still bring him to Piano lesson and also watch concert and he still be able to do it.
We have prepared for Sunday - Josh will get baptized.
But at night, when I check his body, two red dot turn into blister. Can't think any other than virus infection, and positive get a chickenpox - Varicella.

Now, some people will question where he got the virus infection?
For me and Daddy, it's could happen anytime, anywhere.
I forgot the Varicella vaccination, but I heard, it's hard to get in the last one year.

What to do?
During illness, Josh always loss his appetite, and that's really challenging us to keep the nutrition intake.
Eat warm porridge, Drink plenty of water, juice to prevent dehydration.
We have medicine in hand like paracetamol, re-hydration drink (Oralit), antacid (Polysilane), all in case for first aid if happen in middle of night.
Josh throw up, and easily get stomach upset. Need to feed him little bite, and as a support for the first time I gave him multivitamin syrup.
For the skin, we brought calamine lotion to sooth the skin. Then according to pho-pho, shall avoid some food like, shrimp, egg which could cause the itchiness more.

On Tuesday, the red dot stop appears. But his appetite worsen. Josh complain about his stomach, but then He could eat and act normally if I let him play the game. Therefore I still observe what actually happen.
On Wednesday, at night the first time I saw Josh feel very hurt at his stomach area.
On Thursday morning, we went to doctor and took a blood test.
His braveness proven, he's not crying at all, when nurse stick the needle into his arm, not only one but twice cause we need more blood.
Result he also got infection, no wonder his stomach get hurt.
Doctor gave recipe of antibiotic and medicine to help control the gas.

On Friday, everything back to normal, he could eat well, run, dancing, teasing us, talk a lot, laugh,
Our Josh is back.
We felt glad and relieve.

After all, his never stop talking as he have fasting for too long.

Thanks God for Josh.

Good Dinosour - Family Movie Time

Wow... like the movie so much...

When I knew the producer also made Up, Finding Nemo, definetly, I shall bring Josh to watch it.

It's a good moment also when Josh collect the dinosours figure produce by Tomica.

Thursday Night, we went to watch the movie.
What more interesting, I could see Josh became more emotional react to the movie.
He eyes teary when Arlo meet his Daddy on his dream. Josh also cry when Arlo have to say goodbye to Spot.

On the other side, when I asked him the story, he kinda difficult to re - tell it.
I need to help him by repeat the story then he continue it.
May be because Josh english language still limited and he still can't read the text fluently.

Anyway, gonna watch another movie and I will give him the trailer and synopsis, so he will have clue and easily relate when the movie show time.

What Lesson to choose for Kindergarden age - Josh

New Lesson beside school?

* Have a feel that Josh is ready to exposed to new lesson considering the age.

* Introduce for him the activity and see how he react. 

What Lesson?

Something that not covered in school day. 

For Josh, it's music and sport.

Why piano lesson and swimming for Josh?

Piano - cause we have one in home. It's because I buy it when I start to learn piano lesson for the first time ( when I got pregnant with Josh).

Josh like to singing and hearing a music, why don't I try him to learn music instrument.

Swimming - Josh like to play with water, and he has sooo muchhh energy to spent. Let him learn how to swim correctly i think it's pretty good choice.

Private or Group Class?

Both Lesson, I choose a group class.

Josh learn faster when he was with friend.

He like to play with friend at the same time when he learn something he kinda competitive.

It's good when he saw his friend already could do it, then he being encourage too.

When to Start?

After 1 year in Playground, when he start his Kindergarden at 4 years old, I add one activity  - Piano Lesson.

When Josh was in Kindergarden 1, he got swimming as an extra activity in school. So he got a basic lesson from school first.

After he get used to Kindergarden and Piano Lesson for 1 year, we add another one - Swimming Lesson. 

Practice time?

For Piano, he need to practice it daily. At first, I didn't know how to. When I asked him to repeat when he play it wrong, his kinda hate it. 

Then I learn from Josh again, he like me to point it detail, when he got wrong in one part, I shall say it on that part only, while I shall praise him in other part that he does right. It's feel fair ^^. Here how it's goes now, no more tension when practice. 

For Josh, I never put how long he shall practice, for me at least he touch the piano, play the song, then it's oke even it's just 5 minute. While when he has a good time, I accompany him for the new song and sometime it's can last for 30 minutes.

For swimming, the only hardest part is wake him from the nap. But when he got into water, the hardest part was asked him washed up. hehehe.

Then I could conclude he enjoyed both of the activity.

What Josh Learn?

In group Lesson, he learn how to interact with other

He learn how to persistent

He learn practice make it well

He learn how to remember

and lot of other...........................

When he got lazy, I remind him how he got this chance for learning, God still gave us time, why don't we used it wisely. He always remember the story about the servant from the book "Saat Aku Merindukanmu".

Once it start, hope and fight till the finish line.

Perform London bridge is falling down song. He's a brave boy :)

Almost impossible to watch Josh in the deeper pool or doing like above (green noodle stick) without the lesson.

Morning talk with Josh

Dear Josh, you may be laugh one day when you read this post again, how you start to answered us.

This morning as usual, Daddy read for you a morning quiet time verse and close with prayer.
Before you go to school, I asked you again, what the bible said?

We always give you a hint for you to remind it again.
But this time, you answered us: "the Word, It's already in my heart." So you can't talk it out again.
Then you smile, cause you think you have give the best answered.

Daddy told you, Josh, if you listened it and then couldn't tell it out, it's means, you forget it already "Masuk kuping kiri keluar kuping kanan".
If the Word get into your heart, it's means you can talk it out for other.

My lil Josh, we all learn and we all keep forgetting. But let us remind the good thing of each other.

Brotherhood - Water Fun in Garden

These days the wheather was extreamly hot for me.
I prefer to stay at home.

After Sunday Service, we have lunch together with Josh's Grandpa and Grandma.
Arrived at home, Josh was surprise koko Adison welcome him.

They started to play with kinetic sand brought by koko Adison.

While wait for them, I remember I need to took the green grass.
While I digging the soil and watering it, both of them came, and Josh started to took over it.

Adison saw, and they started to play with water.
Saw they happy face. Love it.
The garden being watered also they got the play.

My new Hair

As usual, mom try to cut my hair. She want to try a new style, but end up with daddy bring me to barber shop.

I still like my new hair, even mommy look sad cause she miss her lil boy look.
