Odong - Odong

I knew this word from Indonesian Children video music.
There is no direct translation about what Odong-odong is. Even there is no such word in Indonesian Dictionary. The word it self spoken out by the society.
Odong-Odong can means: Cheap, Perfunctorily, Ordinary.

Anyway, I will not discuss more about Odong-odong, even I found out someone has wrote an 13 pages article written about Odong-Odong and it's relation to culture, interesting hah.

Here my mom with Josh ride on the Odong-odong - traditional game.
However, the driver was having lunch time, so I just took picture then.

A Saturday afternoon when Josh awake at 4.30pm that always make me want to bring him somewhere outdoor.
I remember my "long time no meet" friend told me that she always teach in the park every Sunday afternoon at 4-6pm.
Therefore I give a try this week, without give prior notice to her, wishing that we could still meet by chance :).
So here we are, have fun in a park. I bring a ball with us and a little snack for Josh.
Josh and Daddy walked along the park.

Analyzing the new place. There were two water fountain the park.
Hmmm, where to play? confuse with the spacious area.
Josh refuse to move and staying there for listening to the music.

Trada, here the street musician playing classical music. LOVE It.
Can you imagine, you picnic in the area beside and you got free beautiful music and your child  could have fun playing the ball?
There are bird cage and fully occupied (with bird of course :p).
Ohh, Josh was tried to chase the bird, he run whenever the bird fly. Funny to watched him doing that.
Ohh I love this place.
Wanna massage your foot? Dare to try this!
Enjoy the fruit, while watching the street musician.
Daddy cleaned Josh's hand after he fall into the grass and his hand got dirty.

Josh was 6 months old when I coincidentally met her at Grand Indonesia
And Here we are, 1.5 years later on :)

Where Are We?

TAMAN SUROPATI, every weekend, there bunch of street musician there.

This park was not as big as Monas. I could say this was a mini park.
There were foreign peoples having a picnic there, small family playing with their child, couples having their good time, musician practices, etc.
I love this place. Will be back and hope someday I could meet a friend who want to have picnic there xixixi.

We just park along road side. Ohh, no traffic jam for sure :)

Here the video with mobile quality. You could hear a different background sound :).

Celebration of Light - TMII 15 June 2012

My sista got a free entrance ticket for visit Celebration of Light event (Pesta Lampion - Taman Bunga Keong Mas) and it was for friday 15th June 2012 - the opening ceremony.

Friday? Traffic jam was the first impression that I got.
But imagine that my lil boy - Josh will be happy and smiling and running all over the place, made me put all my effort to make it happen.
Prepared for the food, arranged the driver, prepared for a proper nap so he could enjoy the night, even prepared my emotion for not getting down easily cause of traffic jam.

On the day, my lil sista made us confuse about whether she will go with us or not, little bit obstacle.

The traffic jam was not really worse, at least after one hour we arrived there. Huaaaaaaa, can't wait for the night view :).

Josh was happy and smile and he did a slight leap along the way just to showed that he was enjoy the afternoon with us in outdoor.

We greeted by the Mickey character and other character on the lake.
We took some picture with us.

I love Josh's smile here. With Ocean Characters.
"Josh, are you hungry baby? why you keep standing in front of the buffet, wkwkwk"
Lot of small pool with a small fountain, Josh love it so much.
Mom and Sista in front of Cinderella.
Me and lil Josh in front of Pooh Character.
When the sun set, I felt that the road light was too little, I mean if you bring kids, it was too dark on the road where you walk from one place to the other for looking at the lampion.
But again, I love the lampion :) love it!

We also saw the opening ceremony. Mmm not so good of the singer and the song they choose, but it was really good to saw lot of children played marching band.

There was a giant balloon, if you want to ride it, it was cost you around 120.000IDR for adult and 100.000IDR for children under 12 years old. At least you will be on the sky with 30others people around 15minutes. Oo I didn't get there cause neither my mom or my sista want to join me :p.

Anyway, I could say that we have a great night day.
In our way back home, only need 15minutes on the traffic, and Josh was fall asleep.

Hope you enjoy the picture.
Hmmm hardly took the night shoot with my pocket camera. There a lot of people bring their SLR and tripod just to took the best night shoot they could have.

Activity with Toddler - High Five

Cos Josh?! - Josh will high five with you.

The high five is a celebratory hand gesture that occurs when two people simultaneously raise one hand, about head high, and push, slide or slap the flat of their palm and hand against the palm and flat hand of their partner. The gesture is often preceded verbally by the phrase "Give me five" or "High five". - source: wikipedia

I remember one toy in Sunday School, a long stick and have a hand on one side. You can used it to high five with other. I think to make a simple one.
I have unused brochure with bright color. The brochure was usually taken when I searched for new stuff and somehow I felt sorry to just throw it away. Glad I could make a something simple out.

What you need:
1. Unused paper - with bright color
2. Pen for drawing
3. Scissor
4. Glue stick or Double tape
5. Ice cream stick
The most important, you need a hand - and I asked Josh to be the model :)

Put the palm with open finger on the paper, draw the line. Then Cut the paper, make it two.
Put piece together with the stick between the hand paper.
You could draw the smiley face on the paper.
Tradaaa, Josh start to play with it.

On this art, Josh participate as a model and glue it. Hey Josh kept waiting beside me when I need to cut the paper. I guess he also wondering what his mommy gonna do after have his hand draw on the paper :p.
I also let him play with the pen and he can just draw whatever he like on the left paper while waiting for me to finished it.

Have fun!

Here just to show how I asked Josh to put his hand on the paper.
He was listened to me and wait for me to draw his hand.
When I asked another hand, he give it without any rejection.

I compare the Hand model with mine. So small and this was my near 2 years old kid's hand.
Even I'm made it a bit messy, seem I will kept it for quite long time :). Love the imitation my lil Josh's hand.

Activity with Toddler - Water Paint

Several months ago, I visit my friend house in Serpong and found out this Water Paint equipment.
Then I brought it on Gramedia - Grand Indonesia cost around  IDR30 - 40k (or 3 - 4 US$).
Here the things that I considered when I brought this kind of item:
1. Easy to used
2. Josh could learn about colors
3. At least could build a little bit his sense of art *hahaha*.

Ooo, the water paint brand is Giotto. When I searched for Giotto in the Google, I found out:

"Giotto was an Italian painter and architect from Florence in the late Middle Ages. He is generally considered the first in a line of great artists who contributed to the Italian Renaissance.
Giotto's contemporary Giovanni Villani wrote that Giotto was "the most sovereign master of painting in his time, who drew all his figures and their postures according to nature. And he was given a salary by the Comune of Florence in virtue of his talent and excellence.
" - source: Wikipedia.

Anyway, here the steps to follow:

Step 1: Put the paint brush into the water

Step 2: Get the colour with a wet paint brush

Step 3: Paint the paper.

At the end, Josh love to put the paint brush back to where it placed.
