Josh's Fingerprint Christmas Tree

This year, we made another Christmas Tree using fingerprint.
The idea, of course, mr google.

Honestly, I'm not creative to think a new activity idea, but that not prevent me for searching the idea then adopt it into our activity list.

What you need:
- Our Finger ^^
- unused frame box, etc
- coloring paint (mostly green)
- a small plate

First, I made the triangle shape using my finger. Then Josh continue it.
He choose another color beside red, i.e. yellow and blue.

After finish, Josh write down, "Merry".
His writing skill improve a lot, though I never expect it. Cause most of his time in home is playing with Lego or running here and there.

Here the result. Love it.

DIY Wall Project - Word Art and Acrylic

2 Years Ago, using search engine, I found out a WordArt which I wish to have in my Wall.
At that time, I came to printing house and asking whether they can make a Sticker out of it.
Yes, but it was pricey.

After all things related to my brother handle well, somehow I could felt something missing.
To overcome the feeling, I look at my spotted wall, and decided to make the WordArt.
Drawing the alphabet with different Font with approximately 6 hours times (Not an artist, make a lot of mistake, need to re-draw), and then finishing it with Acrylic Paint in my spare time.
In the middle of work, lil bit compromising my time with Josh, which I felt sorry. At that time, I asked Josh, "do you like mommy to finished it or you want mommy to played with you?". He answered me sound like "That ok mom, I like you to draw".

Here the result.
Now days, Josh learn the alphabet from this word art also.

DIY Wall Project - Exploring Stencil and Acrylic Paint

Sometime when I need time for my self, I like to spend it doing something.

Now, I want to explore using stencil and acrylic paint and fortunately there is a wall need to re-paint.
Let say if the result turn ugly, then I can just order some painting work to be done.

While waiting for Josh's 3 hours school time, I finished it.
Accompanied me doing this repetitive work, usually I turn on the sermon, at least listened to something that could enrich my soul.

So here the result, what you think?

Different acrylic paint give different work to clean the stencil.
Cheaper one, last hard on the stencil, need extra work for clean it.

DIY - egg sheel mozaic

When Josh stay at home all day long, I begin to look around, wish to find an idea for our activity time.

Then, when we watch "Craft Time - Reformed 21 channel", I want to give a try with an egg shell.
I like when the idea is using something easy to find from around us and affordable ^^/

At first Josh help me to break the shell into pieces and then help to arrange and stick it. I would like Josh to focus and concentrate on one activity
But.... sometime thing doesn't work out well.

Just when I told him to slowly arrange it, and always put the white side facing us, he seem unhappy. And he didn't want to continue it.

I told him nicely if he could help me done it otherwise it will took a lot of time for finished it alone. But he refuse it.

On some activity, I stop and wait for him. For this one, I keep continue. When almost finished, before paint, I asked him again to help so we can finished faster and Yes, he back on track, help me break the shell.
At the end, when painting time, he couldn't wait to see the result.
For the Cross, I put glow in the dark paint. While for the egg shell, hmm I think the color is too contrast - no white paint available at time (I think to buy one).
When done, I put it on the dark room and yipeee we can see the Cross glow in the dark.

So what did Josh do when I finished it alone? He did his other stuff. Make something also ^^ from post it note and put it on the wall. He told me that was a road for airplane. He was a groundcrew who show the direction.

Straw Painting

It's been a long long time I haven't done any art and craft activity with Josh.
Since he attend the playgroup, I kinda lazy to do such thing as I know he got such activity in school also.
Most of our time spent with reading, playing and cooking.

Sometime ago when I surf other blog, I found out that straw painting might be interesting and easy to be done.

So here we are, do the straw painting.
Hmmm it's bit hard for Josh to blow from the paint through the straw. I guess that because the diameter of the straw is quite big. I must choosenthe tiny one hmmm like tho one that we used to drink mineral cup water
Instead of blowing, we stamp the straw, moving the straw freely on the paper.

Here the result.

Pomelo (Jeruk Bali) Boat Creation

My MIL brought Jeruk Bali from market and woww it's taste so sweat and I haven't had one for a long time.
Then the day after, I got 7 Jeruk Bali left beside the refrigerator WOW.

For a week later, I ate Jeruk Bali all day, good my mom like it, so share with my mom also.

I didn't know when we (Indonesia) called it Jeruk Bali, where there is no relation with Bali (one of Island in Indonesia). Cause it's familiar with Jeruk Bali name instead of Pomelo, I will continue called it Jeruk Bali.

Now, it's come to creativity time, what will you do with the Jeruk Bali's skin.
I heard that long ago, before we have so many toys, people play with Jeruk Bali's skin.
They made car, hat, etc.

So here what we do:

A Hat?

A Boat and sing "Row your Boat or Sailing Home or other song..."

Have a great weekend play date with our kids.

Cereal Box - Car Track

I'm in the mood of making something ^^.
So on last Friday (31August2012), I brought the cereal box and tried to make the Car Track.

first attempt last June :p. Look not good yeah.
I was triggered when looking at the picture of Leonny's son (www.oureverydaything.com) playing the Wall Track from Hot Wheel and considering the price here, I tried to make one using an Indomie Box on Last June.
Then, seem I made it lil bit steep, the car quickly fall down to the floor and that made Josh quite shock.

Therefore I didn't make any, till I saw Leonny post about Making Cereal Box Wall Track for Cars, hehehe, that tickle my mind to make another one for Josh.
Yes, I'm glad I did this once again.
Josh love it and played with it.
Even I didn't put in the wall this time, he still enjoyed the car track.

Here the result:

Ah the car was upsidedown
