To killing time during long hour in road, I teach Josh to play rock scissors and paper game.
We played the game for winning the snack also.
But hey despite it's a simply hand game, I learn something about Josh.
Josh didn't like to lose.
Whenever we went to my mom house and have a chance, I asked him to played the game who climb the stair faster.
Everything fine in the beginning, and he seem to enjoy the game also, but when my position higher than him, Josh suddenly stop to played.
Mama: " Josh, come on, let's continue."
And his reaction........
At first most of his reaction was Angry with me and stop playing. But I keep explained to him that nobody will played with him if he get angry, and he shall continue the game to an end, nobody know the result, at least we try and just be happy and embrace the game progress.
From here, after several time, I got other reaction, he climb to the stair where I stand. I explained to him that he shall be honest when do something.
"Please go back to your previous position."
Then Josh starred at me " Mama, the Stair is not for playing!" , turn his body and went to play other stuff.
Erhmmm Josh is right that we won't allowed yo play on stair as it was not safety. But Josh used the reason only to stop the game which he think he might loose it.
From the experience and observation while playing with Josh became a valueable moment to learn about the personality of my son Josh.
Josh is a fast learner, either good or bad.
He learn from my explanation that he shouldn't throwing anger whenever he felt he will lose and turn into other reaction, not angry but give a lot of reason e.g. he was tired, he just want to watch tv, or just told you that stair is not for playing.
Everything only to let him stop playing whenever his position lower than me.
Of course I could let Josh arrived first (win), but it wasn't realistic. On the real life we will face a hard situation also. How we give a right and truth reaction and overcome it became an important thing to learn and practice.
Hopefully from this simply game, I wish and pray, Josh will learn to embrace the process and keep on the spirit as best as he can.
